Default S2k Intake

I just purchased my '04 S2000, and one of the first items I would like to buy is an intake. When it comes down to performance, what is the best? And are there any things I should look and look out for when upgrading my S2000?
Thanks...

The very first thing you should look for when upgrading your S2000 is the search function.

That being said:

No intake provides significant gains on the S2K all you can really do is drop the temp of your intake charge with a cold air intake. Most all of the non-cold air intakes are prone to heatsoak from the engine bay.

4 main options:

AEM V2
Comptech
J's Racing
Mugen

If you want to spend sub $500 go with the AEM or Comptech. If you have the cash to go $1000+ go Mugen or J's. The AEM is going to be the loudest of all these options, but its more likely to hydrolock. The Comptech is the least likely to hydrolock and well... the J's looks the best.

Cant say much more, but if your expecting a performance difference then spending the money on an intake is really the last component that needs to be swapped out. I would suggest going exhaust first.

I have the comptec on my00' I replaced the foam filter with a AFE filter. they make more noise. and you get some better throttle response. easy to install. you may want to go with a catback exaust, to get the full effect. IMO. drive safe
