Are S2k owners A-holes?
try my best to be friendly,
but i'm one of those that just mind their own business.
IT IS GOD DANG ANNOYING when the other guy thinks i'm his best friend just because we have the same car or because he saw my posts "on the board."
it's even scary when they decide to follow me into the local restaurant and talk to me about rwhp and vtech and sc and cf and blah, blah, blah, when i'm trying to enjoy my weekend with my gf.

The S2000 is rare enough around Germany that seeing another one in the winter/spring is a once-a-month affair, and in the summer closer to once-a-week.
I normally flash my lights twice when passing another S on the road. I've always gotten some sort of friendly acknowledgment back, irrelevant of age. Maybe it's because of the climate and thus when the weather is nice enough to drive around topless, people are in friendlier moods!
I'll wave out the roof when passing chicks driving convertibles on the Autobahn. They also always return the wave

about 90 % of chance seeing a S owner, they will wave at me or i'll wave at them. it's funny thing to MY04, well, i probably only seen about less than 10 of you guys and only 1 that wave at me and other one i think he's one of the s2ki moderator. i think that's what he said. anyways, i've tried to wave at them and they seems like don't give it...
maybe people are not use to MY04 cuz it's different, and MY04 probably don't like MY03, MY02, MY01, and MY00 cuz most of us will have this thing agains the new s2k.
sorry 4 my FOB english

I usually wave at other S2ks, can't tell always if they wave back at me. Coolest experiece...
i was sitting at a light when I see a beautiful blue Ferrari (testarosa I think, couldn't tell). I say "Nice car" as the guy goes by, he gives me a "peace" symbol or something like that.

If you are assuming that a person is a a hole cause you don't get a reaction ,a nod or a blink of the high beams as your paths cross that may be over the top .There are a number of reasons why people don't respond .
1.to them a s2k is just a car i know that is hard to accept
but after all it's just a $30,000 jap car to some .
2.they are to busy trying to handle the car .
3.some people never buy a aftermarket part ,join a car
club or get on a web site re their car .
4.their car just is not that important.
5.the purchase and owneship of a s2k is nothing more
than that what it really is the purchase and ownership of
a car .
I had a miata in 1990 when they first came out and there was a kinda kinship with other owners back then . In 01 i bought another 01 miata with sports pkg and didn't do the wave thing or brights as 600,000 were sold and that feeling of being special that ran thru my blood in my underpowered 1990 miata i didn't have in my underpowered 01.Yet with my s2k I'll wave ,hit my brights get out and talk exchange numbers go to web sites and got to tech days as well .As my personal feeling is we are on to something with a very special 4 cyl car. That out shines many 6 cyl ,more expensive cars of the same type .I feel that old kinship from the 1990 miata with the s2k that the 350z bmw,and boxter people just will never know .
I will also never assume that that just because i don't get a nod from another driver that he sees me in my s2k he is a a hole .

Just the other day at a red light another S owner pulled up beside me as the light turned green and honked at me. I did wave back but what a pleasant surprise that another S owner would acknowledge me.
I use to own a CBR600 and 90% of the time other motorcycle riders would wave and seeing as the S2K is basically a Motorcycle on 4 wheels maybe that's why we're compelled to wave.

2+ years ago, virtually every S2K owner waved and said "Hi!" (probably because the car was significantly less common then). . . However, over the last 1+ years, the car has lost some of its "Hi there!!" following. . .
Oh well. . . I'll still wave every chance I get.
