Are S2k owners A-holes?
i've noticed around here and on trips to southern CA, that age has a HUGE effect on whether or not they wave/acknowledge.
for instance, i get the "what the hell are YOU driving that car for??" look from the older S2K owners and they generally dont wave or want to acknowledge i can afford the same car as them. (i'm only 22).
but if it's someone under 30, they usually always wave or smile, or flash the lights. and usually their car has some mods, so maybe that has to do with "getting it" as well.

However, I do thinks it pretty sad that I passed a group of Z3s and Z4s one day and the drivers about jumped out of there seats to wave at me...every single one...
Got some friendly reaction from Miata folks too. Oh well, don't need em, I have my own to enjoy!
Eh, I think alot of the reactions come from everyone always seems to want to race if you pay any attention to them.
Any time I even glance at a car beside they start revving their engines. Hell, I had a guy in a Saturn Ion try and run me at light cause I looked in his direction.

I pulled up to a spa when I was in my Sebring about a week ago and there was these two Asians in it. They pulled up next to me at a stop light and didn't look in my direction, but I thought I would offer a "hey, cool car" hello.
They just looked at me and nodded their head in a shy fashion. "No speaky english?", I thought... then I said, "are you going to the Honda meeting later?" And they shook their head no. Then they ignored me until the light turned green.
Okay, whatever.
But, there was a time a Porsche Turbo passed me in the other direction and I didn't see him wave. My girlfriend did though, and I felt like I was an A-hole for not looking at the driver rather than the car.

yea some people are like that and some arent. Owning a Trans Am, Whenever I pass a TA or a formula they usually acknowledge with a nice gesture. As for the camaro guys, its been my experience that they def got that attitude like their car is more special than urs. Im sure there are camaro owners that wave or whatever but never seen it happen when riding in my buddies SS.
Coolest gesture I ever saw was when i was driving down one of my residential roads just cruisin, i see a new silver TA come off the corner spinnin rubber and gettin sideways during the turn. The person straightens it out as Im about to pass going the opposite direction. It was a smokin blonde who prob couldnt have been older than 25 smilin and wavin. I think you could say i believed in love at first site at that moment

I think it depends on the individual. Regularly I see other S's who do not respond to a polite wave or flash of the lights but only yesterday I pulled up alongside another S to say
and found out the driver is also on the forum.
You can never make up for people, however the good ones will alwars shine through. There are A-holes in every walk of life, why should car ownership be any different?

Most fellow S owners wave at me, which is cool.
Anyone in a sh*tty mood behind the wheel of an S needs to enjoy life a bit. Flicking someone off for waving...what a waste of space.

I'm surpised by this thread. S2K owners in Northern Calif. are really friendly and I get waves and polite honks all the time. Hard to believe, but Berlina owners are just as friendly as Spa & Rio owners
