Yes, you missed late 1999 when the S2000 first came out. Most dealerships (atleast in Florida) were charging $5-10K OVER sticker price. Not many kids can afford $40k for a car.

Now those early AP1's can be had for under $10k (granted not in good shape)...but when you're gonna slap on super low offset wheels and destroy your fenders, maybe condition doesn't matter.

 

One of the best statements on the site. I am a young guy and I had to work hard for what I have. My car is a 02 and I paid just over 18k for it five years ago. It took me almost everything I had for three and a half years. I wouldn't do it again, but I defiantly love my car too much to wreck it with wheels that do not fit or to just rev up at someone in a turn lane. The s2k is the new civic and it pains me a lot. Most of the mean comments on the site are for people who do not appreciate the car like those who actually had to pay for it instead of getting it for pennies. Unfortunately, I do not see that trend going out; young owners who just abuse the vehicle.

Affordability is relative. The majority of drivers under 21 usually will not afford themselves (or their parents wont) a car above $15k (http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...ars-for-teens/). The S2000 is now well below this price point and thus are now "affordable" to the mass majority of teen and young adult drivers.

Also, there is no need for a space preceding the question mark, I've noticed that it is a constant mistake of yours. Regards.

It seems like young s2000 owners will never get respect because of these "hellaflush" guys which sucks for those of us young owners who actually respect and appreciate the car for what it really is, and buy wheels that not only fit but are also functional.

 

Wow, that is one nice looking...5th gen. No visible rust on the back of the wheel wells. Wheels look mint, too.
