hey everybody. im new to the s2k and hondas in general. im due to get a car by the end of the year, and im really looking at the s2k for its high redline (8200 and 9000 are both extremely high to me) and because its a convertable. my question though is about the safety. does the car only have the 2 front airbags, or does it have sides aswell? ive seen conflicting information from different sources and i wanted to know for sure.

also, the car doesnt have any traction control /stability control, right?

 

only 2 front airbag. no stabilty, yaw, traction control. I think in 02+ they added seatbelt pretentioners. I dont know if the 00 01's have it. thats about it for the options. of course the manadtory NHTSA features are there, like crush zones, side intrusion beams. etc.

 

thanks duff. does anyone know how the safety ratings are? i would assume that honda makes a 5 star all around car, but i could be wrong.

They have always had seat belt pretensioners. No side bags though, I doubt that they would add them with the convertible top.

Traction control is built into your right foot.
