What a great post!!!

I used to own a 93 MR2 (loved that car!! can't you tell from my username???) and I bought the S2k because I felt it was the closest to the MR2 in so many attributes. I would love to see a JDM 3rd Gen 3SGTE MR2 Turbo against a S2k on the track stock for stock. That would definitely be a battle of the titans!!! IMO it would be a dead heat!!!

Both are great cars. From what I discovered on the track by driving them back to back is that both handle well, brake well etc. The steering is far superior in the S2000, but the MR2 was much faster & had a higher corning limit. This is not exactly a fair comparison because the MR2 is much more modified than the S2000.

When asked which I like best I always answer "both". I have friends that like the 2 better & I have other friends that prefer the S.

No dude, you're being played. YOU wanted to make me realize it strengths and weaknesses. Please don't flatter YOURSELF by thinking you know you're car because you don't. I've driven an S2000 before I drove yours by the way. And I've never said the MR2 could outhandle the S2k. I'll tell you this. I really doubt that you drove as fast I drove down the flats. You just claimed you did, maybe to hide that you had spent 3 trips to that place only to see the best you could do was equivalent to my first try. High rpms, yes for more of your powerband, braking hard, yes because I was driving fast. You brought that up "braking hard" because you weren't, which would imply, slow speeds for you. I was just joshing you about trading in my car. Cuz I know I couldn't afford the monthly payments on it. Oh and by the way, who's paying for your car? I know you can't say it's you, draw your own conclusions on who is. I realized as I was driving your car, you were surprised at what I was doing with it. "Take care of my baby." HAH. I realized how timid you were while going uphill which is much easier to control and how slow you were going. I actually put your tranny to use. Non of that "granny shifting" you were doin'. Man this is enough because all this stuff that's coming from you, a person who thought that your drive wheels were the same as your steering wheels. "Why are my front wheels the ones that are turned, I thought my car was rear wheel drive?" That's all I have to say. don't deny that you said that, because you did. I don't have anything against the S2K, only owners like you that think you're the "amazing machine" when in fact it's the car, because I've witnessed firsthand what your skill level is when driving. Done.

Don't let your pride get in the way. I remember you tried to showing me up in a street called "Cottonwood". Luckily I wasn't riding my car, but I was shotgunning in another vehicle. You should know what I'm talking about. That was your own street. Did you take that turn too fast or was it the weather that day? Either way, both vehicles could have been seriously damaged, let alone occupants. Just because you thought the cars in that show Initial D can drift at about 120 MPH (when you didn't realize it was KMPH) doesnt mean you can do the same with your car. I was going the same speed uphill as you were going downhill. It didn't seem like that because I wasn't "working" the tranny. I don't know what's your vendetta. Yeah, a lucky kid like me is not paying for this car. You should have already known that. Is that what's ticking you off? I have nothing against MR2s. I even had the respect to compare the mr2 and s2k. I just don't like it when people don't give credit where credit is due. Face it, you've been chiding my cars and me for the longest time. Yeah, I had a red AUTO 2000 Celica GT a year or so back, and it was you that came over that wanted to run me. You remember the results. I took a couple of runs. You can blame it on mishifting or whatever, but a win's a win. I can tell you things which derive from truth, like when I said I was going to get a S2K. However you already have set in your mind that a kid like me can never beat you. Now that I have the S2K, all you can do is put it on the car and not the driver. I'll drive my car, you'll drive yours. DONE.

Nah. U wanted to run me. You haven't had to earn anything in your life. No respect for you at all. And I'll admit I overshot that street. But goes to show you, ur just another rich kid who's had it with the silver spoon. Just stepping on ur pedal that's all u need to do. My 135hp against ur 240hp. Get that in your head for once. I'll borrow my cousins S2000 when he gets back from Iraq then we'll run S2K vs S2K. And with ur celica, you took one run. Not a couple.

I see you edited. It wasn't one run..ask your brother. What's in that S2K I wonder. I know the hp difference, so I don't know what are you trying to prove. Tsk Tsk. Kinda sad you had to take it to a personal level. I wonder if I'm the kid now.

If I could chose I would go with the S. Not because I own one but because I looked at all the options before buying my S includeing 3rd gen RX7, VR-4, another GSX, or a new Cobra. I chose the S out of 50/50, convertable, 2-seats, fun of VTEC, and if I want 12's it won't be a problem. Mustang, GSX, MR2, Civic, or almost anything else for that matter will take almost the same amount of cash to go 12's. Now no flaming here. I say this in the respect that I will do it right with all the supporting gear, have the mechanic put it together, and buy brand new parts with no nitrous oxide. So don't throw the I can do it for 2k please. My firends Civic already runs mid thirteens and it cost a whole 3k including the car. No offense to my friend but it all looks like sh?? and it looks like it was put together in the back garage. As he sais "But it is fast".
