well im new here and ive been stuck on this question for lil while now....im wondering if i should or shouldnt get an s2k...do u guys think its really worth the money? my dad wants me to pay for half my insurance, my 6 month he said if i get it..is gonna be 2000 bucks -_- i got like 3 speeding tickets...and i only make like 700 to 800 a month and im putting 3500 down on a 19995 03 s2k....since i only make a certain amount, and have to pay for insurance...do u think the car is worth it considering id be spending about 500-600 dollars alone on my car?....i know this sounds pretty stupid...but i need some opinions..thanks

not a good financial decision.............. but if you reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyyyyyyyy want an s2k, go for a MY00-01 as they can be had anywwhere from 12-15k pending on mileage condition etc.

 

but dont the 00-02 models have lots of probs? like my cuz knows a shit load bout cars...he told me those engines blow up..dats why i havent already chosen to get a cheaper s2k

 

S2k is the most sportscar for the money period. What else comes close to the performance, handling and looks? Boxters are too much money, maitas are too small for me, corvetts are way to big. But its gonna kill you on insurance. Why dont you wait untill your tickets drop off, and save your money and get a beater for now. You may enjoy your s2k more if your not working two jobs to pay for it.

For what the car is, I think it's a fantastic driving machine. I think it's worth the money if you are willing to spend the money in order to have the car...
However..not to be rude, but if you already have 3 speeding tickets, I dont think a car like an S2k is really a wise decision, financially and otherwise...because it's the type of car that can very easily get you more if you lack self control.

Get something slow

 

Most insurance companies (depending on the state) will remove a ticket from your record after 3-5 years and you will no longer be priced as a risky driver.

My car has been problem free for 70K miles. Modifry was supercharged in his 2000 model up until 181K miles. Your friend doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. The 00/01 is the exact same engine as the 02/03. The only major difference are the oil jets which can be bought for 50 bucks.

You either need a new job, or another car. Start waiting tables - you can make 1K a week and not have to pay taxes either.

 

Dude if you are planning on living at home for a couple more years - rent free - and you can stop hooking up speeding tickets and are willing to spend almost all your money on car payments and insurance then go for it.
