for what it's worth, here is some info to help people make a decision:

Sears Point:
Track Map
Location
To-do in the Bay Area

Laguna Seca:
Track Map
Location
To-do in the Bay Area

Vegas:
can't find any info on the track (i assume it's not the dirt track, the speedway or the drag strip)
To-do in Vegas

If it's Laguna Seca, I'd drive coast to coast for the event. With Monterey Bay and some of the most beautiful driving spots in the world, it'd be hard to miss. Vegas, on the other hand, doesn't come close IMHO, unless you're heavily into artifice, which I'm not.

Dallas. We have Texas Motor Speedway, and it's pretty well central to the entire country. Plus there's a ton of owners here in Texas already.

Hey!

Things to think about-

April in Vegas is already into the "warm" season. I wouldn't want it to be there, unless we're talking about having it in February.

Laguna Seca is nice. Roads around it are nice. Hotels are somewhat expensive, good food is off the scale in terms of price, if you have a significant other who likes to shop make sure he/she doesn't have the credit card...

I think we should look at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Denver's got relatively good food, good location for the entire country, April is still ski season in the mountains for those who want to make it a late ski trip, foothills are fun for driving and mountain biking/motocross/hiking, sunny 300 days out of the year there, and we get to check out the Pikes Peak Hillclimb course too if you want.

I don't think it gets much better than that.

Laguna Seca! Beautiful, awesome, famous track. Monterey and San Francisco offer great dining and opportunities for a fun caravan of S2000's.

Please don't make me drive from Seattle to Las Vegas!
