S2KDays '02!!!!!
Laguna Seca baby!! I've GOT to run the corkscrew
I also think Las Vegas would be awesome, as would Pikes Peak. Been there twice and it would definitely be as great as the other 2.
1. Laguna Seca
2. Las Vegas
3. Colorado Springs/Pikes Peak

How about Mid-Ohio? Central location (sort-of). I've never driven it (other than Indycar Racing game), but if it's good enough for a CART race and the SCCA it should be good enough for us. (I would rather drive Laguna Seca, but for the sake of location and convenience for all..... and no bias here either- I will not be living here in Ohio by the time the '02 S2K Days comes around)

Laguna Seca
If you've never driven the 'left'coast,,, you don't know what you're missing. Highway 1 is absolutely outstanding!
And as far as having something for the wifes to do, you had better be more concerned with them wanting to stay after you leave. There is more than you can ever imagine to do from the Golden Gate Bridge to Monteray. This is one of the most beautiful places in the country.

I think Vegas is a natural choice for a number of reasons:
1. It's easy to get to cheaply if you are flying in
2. It's easy to get to if you are driving from the west
3. It's got the accomodations and facilities
4. You can rent an S2000
5. There is a race track there (Derek Daly Academy)
6. Nightlife and the best strip bars anywhere
7. Good group rates for stuff
8. Food is cheap
9. Nightlife!
10. Predictable weather (top down baby!)
11. Great convention facilities
12. Grand Canyon
13. Hoover Dam
14. The list goes on and on...

Maybe we can do a deal with Derek Daly for a afternnon or morning clinic? Now that would be way cool. LS is a nice idea but better for a simple track day/weekend like opentrack. LV has everything for an action packed long weekend, so much we probably wouldn't be able to do it all. A day at the track maybe with a morning clinic and then open laps for the rest of the day. Then a drive out to the Grand Canyon for another day. And the nightlife! Did I mention that?
Not to mention there is a crap load of stuff for the sig. other to do if they don't want to drive like shopping, shows, gambling, sunning or even a spa and message.
Dude there is simply no other choice!

Laguna Seca!!!! Please!!! It's been my dream to drive on that track for the longest time. Imagine the great pictures we could get of S2000's coming through the corkscrew! I would gladly drive from Austin to go to Laguna Seca and I've heard that the roads in the bay area are great, too. Screw Vegas, I'm going to come to S2k days to celebrate the S2000 and drive on roads and tracks I don't get to do every day, not to go look at titties at night and get trashed so I can't drive the next day because I feel like crap. If you truly love your car, you will give it what it needs and take it to Laguna Seca!

Other - According to my PCA track map Colorado has many tracks to offer in close proximity: La Junta, Pueblo, Stapleton, Second Creek, Mountain, Aspen... In addition, Colorado is centraly located for those on the "left" coast and the central S2Kr's. Second goes to Las Vegas.
