Default Are S2K's dropping in popularity?????????

Is it my imagination or am I seeing less and less S2000's around??? How are they selling at the dealerships? As the drop in interest rates caused people to head too more expensive, more HP cars???????? I used to see a couple a week. Now I'm lucky if I see one every 2-3 weeks. I'm the only guy at my CC that has one. Maybe that's a good thing.

I see about the same as I've always seen. Maybe 2 a month. As far as the popularity is concerned, I would say that there are other cars out there that are increasing in popularity. We know what a gem we have!!!

as long as you're happy with your car, does it really matter how popular it is?

The less S2000's out there, the happier I am. Sounds selfish I know!
There's nothing worse than people noticing your car and then a few months later, you see more and more of your car everywhere. Perfect example of such tragedy is when I got my 2001 Clk430 in white about 2 years ago. 2 years in Vancouver, there were not too too many CLK's out there. You would see the 320's here and there, but there were only 3 white CLK's in Vancouver. ( I had the salesman, family friend, check the numbers in the computer.)
My CLK got looks from everyone. I saw the CLK's in white, and thought it was definitely the best color to get. Within months...like by 6 months...holy crap...there were so many white CLK's out there. And now...so many of them out there, I'm sort of glad I gave up my CLK, and got another 'rare' gem again.
I think all colors on the s2k looks great, but being a girl and all...my Ruby sure does look preetttyyy sharp!
I wish people would continue to buy the BMW Z3's or the Audi TT convertibles over the S2000. I don't think too many people bother test driving the s2k...thinking that it's only 'Honda' and all....rather go for the big name like BMW and Audi....so our car is sort of like a hidden gem. BMW z3 in my opinion is overpriced, and is one of the ugliest, oddest looking convertibles out there. And the Audi TT....well, you're asking for nothing but trouble...so unrealiable. My bf had a '01 TT quatrro coupe....man oh man...it was in the shop more often than it was on the road!

So let's keep our mouth closed...and only drive your car out once in a while....that way people don't notice our cars!! kidding...

I am currently shopping for an S2000. I am in Minneapolis. dmd92east, I have received quotes anywhere from $29800 to $32000 from dealers in Upper Midwest. So, the car can be purchased for invoice essentially without much difficulty. I assume this reduces the selling price of used ones also by maybe $2000 to $3000 from selling prices one year ago. Most people are asking too much for their used ones. I have contacted a few and many have dropped their prices about $2000 after talking to me. My thinking is that since this is a sports car with the temptation to drive it hard, I am leaning toward buying new in order to avoid potential problems with used.
