I think i came across one of the most aggressive middle aged drivers today on my way home from calabasas (a member here perhaps?)... And he was driving a stook! It was silver with custom wheels. I gave the beret-wearing fella a thumbs up and both cruised at least 80mph for awhile but he was doing it weaving in and out of semi-heavy traffic without signaling... doesn't he have grandkids or something? I wasn't guilty of weaving as much but finally lost grandpa when i saw a wide open right lane with an inviting Ferrari in the middle.

A buddy of mine is taking delivery on his S4 this week and we are already in preliminary plans to take it to Sears point and drag it. I am very interested in how I will do in my car vs an S4. Once I get the results I will have to post them here....

Well geez I beat a 1998 Corvette coupe 6 speed from a rolling start from ~25mph up to ~85. I beat him by about 4 feet..

This is a fact. Was his Vette in bad shape? I don't know. Was he a bad driver/shifter? Probably, but I still beat him.

The only Audi (stock)I have lost to (so far) is an A8, I don'tknow about a S4 though. Give me the SC and then we will see.
Ca'mon Comptech, let's see if we can improve those 293 HP to the wheels I keep reading about.

Shoot...yesterday I came up to a stoplight with a 99+ Z28 in front of me. The driver leaned out the window and said something, but over my music I couldnt hear. As the light turned green he dropped the hammer. I thought "ohh..that was what he was saying." He slowed and as I got close again, I could see he had two passengers. Since I was with my 210+lb buddy, and it was an empty road for as far as I could see, I figured, WTH. At about 30mph and my nose at his door, he droped it again. He was about 3/4 car length ahead before I was into it. I have to tell you, I was surprised how quickly I ate him up. By the time I was at 70 I was 1.5 cars ahead and at 90 I was 3 cars easy. I dont know if he was a bad driver since this was my first experience with a Z28....but it sure felt nice....

...repeat after me:

"The S2000 is not a superb stoplight dragster".

It WILL destroy an S4 and most other overweight, high-powered sedans on a road course, the more technical the better.

It WILL go very quickly 0-60, but not without some theatrics at the launch.

I ran with two modded S4's at my last track day. They were significantly slower in their corner entry and exit speeds, which made any straightaway acceleration advantage irrelevant. Great passing practice.

It's the sporty version of the A4. Looks very similar to the A4 on the outside, but on the inside, very different. Carries the 2.7 twin-turbo engine. Here's what Audi has to say:

"With 250 hp at 5800 rpm and 258 lb-ft of peak torque from a low of 1850 rpm through 3600 rpm, the S4 has power. Gobs of it. Where and when you need it. Forget about turbo lag. The S4's got pull-away power in every gear and 0-60 acceleration in a brisk 5.9 seconds. Wow."

5.9 seconds is conservative, too. Usually in the mid 5s consistently. Easy to mod to go faster. Add a $600 chip and you're pushing low 300+ hp and torque. Add an exhaust, blah blah, and you get the picture.

So it's no wonder why a lot of S2000s want a crack at it. It's a performance beast.

Here's a photo of the car in yellow: http://www.imolas4.com/pictures/Dscn0199.jpg

Hmmmm... A performance beast huh? I just found out the guy that I ran with (that has the s4) is a friend of my neighbors, and that him and his very cute... sister(I am married...I am married...chant) came from his place . My neighbor has a beautiful 2002 tii, and an M Z3 who claims that it is no contest when he goes against his buddy. I will try to grab a ride in the s4 at lunch and see what I can get off the G-Tech. Who knows.

p.s.

he does have it chipped.
