Default "safely" launching ??

I'm new to this board and have read most of the posts on launching but i still have a couple questions....if you guyz could help me out, that'd be great.

Is there any way to launch or race off the line "safely"...without doing severe damage to the clutch, differential, or tranny? It seems that most people think dropping the clutch at 5.5-7 k is the best way to go. But will that kill the differential?

Would a new stronger clutch fully prevent this damage?

Thanks for your inputs....

You have to launch so you get wheelspin, 5.5-7.5k is the range, most often about 6.5-7k in the summer.

Launching lower will yield more damage since the shock will be absorbed by your drivetrain and clutch instead of the tires spinning.

So basically, there is no "safe" way to launch an s2k with the stock clutch.

Preventative measures are:

Basically, the only no damage way to launch is the regular everyday way. Just do a street take off and floor the car as soon as your clutch grabs completely. I was able to do a 0-60 in 6.21 and a 1/4 mile in 14.6 using this method. So it is much slower compared to my 0-60 in 5.11 and 1/4 in 13.85 using aggressive launching...

In a perfect aggressive launch, you would peel for about 3/4 of a second and as long as you are getting forward motion you are on the right track. Also, you are doing very little damage as long as the tires spin right away easily. You are doing more damage when you are getting wheel hop which happens when the tires peel, then stop, then peel again, then stop.... and so on. This is why raising the tire pressures is important, it reduces grip and makes the tires easier to spin.

No matter what you do, you will damage the car a little with any non-regular launch, you can only reduce the damage by taking precautions (see above post) and not do it too often.
