You could put a big wing and some hella flush wheels while you're at it.

Track mods for street-only cars are kind of poserish IMHO.

GET OUT ON THE TRACK AND DRIVE!!!
Point well taken ...buying some new wheels and tires for this spring , track use only

See for me personally I want to install a good 4 point rollbar simply because of how tall I am. I am 6'3" and when I am sitting my head is higher than the stock rollbar. Want to install it just for the piece of mind that should a rollover occur my head isnt hitting first like it would now. If you do get a rollbar on the street make sure you pad it well.

That's what your neck is for. You can move your head out of the way before it hits the ground.

This is also exactly why it is a horrible reason to have a 4pt. harness without a solid roll bar, since you're locked in (and cannot bend) during a roll over.

I came to an S2000 from a Miata, driven almost from new with a serious rollbar. Improbable to roll a car this low on the street unless you leave the pavement sideways and the outside tires dig into something soft, but I felt better about it anyway. Definitely stiffens the car (YMMV on S2000). Aesthetic considerations are a mixed bag. Padding a must, you're more likely to get rear-ended than roll. On a S2000 where I was spending $$$$ on mods, I'd consider one.

Do what YOU think you'll be happy with.

Do you honestly think that you can tilt your head in the event of a rollover? I really really doubt that you can react that fast and keep your head in one position. And why exactly do people that go on the track actually use a 4 or 5 point harness if they are not going to be able to move?
Yes, I do. You wouldn't be able to if you were locked into a 4-pt harness, but with the stock seatbelt, I can situations where you would be able to move your upper body away from the ground.

People who use 4 and 5 point harnesses on the track usually have adequate roll protection, like a cage, or say... a roof.

Why the hell would you have a 4-pt harness with the stock seat and no cage?

Just a quick question, have you ever been in an accident? Do you realize how fast things actually happen? I can assure you there is little to no time to react well enough to pull your head into the passenger cabin in the event of a roll over.

Whoa, easy there big fella. Breathe.

I would never have a 4-pt harness with no cage. But then again, I'm not a retard. I have no idea why the hell someone else would have a 4-pt harness with no cage. But hey, it's been done before, on these very pages. Don't jump all over me for someone else's stupid decision.

What does me ever having been in an accident before have anything to do with it? Sorry if you lack the self preservation instinct to protect your head in any sort of emergency that most of us are inherently born with.

I'm not saying it will be possible in all situations, but the fact of the matter is that a stock seatbelt will allow much more movement than a 4-pt harness. That is what they are designed to do. When utilized properly, this can be a great thing. When utilized improperly, it can be a bad thing. If you do not have adequate roll protection in an open top car, a 4-pt harness is not a good idea.

I'm not sure why you're all in a huff over this, it's actually pretty simple...

I'm not upset about it, I just think its pretty funny that you think you'll be able to move your head in time. I also didn't mean that you in particular had a 4pt harness without a cage, just meant 'you' as in 'someone'.

Also, yes, the point of a 4pt harness is to limit how much you move around, exactly what you want if you roll. How would being able to move around be a good thing (aside from your theory of being able to duck)?

Just take a look at this video of one of Pastrana's rally crashes. He's wearing a 5 point harness.

You are saying a regular seatbelt would be better because he would be able to move around and tuck his head?

Please don't view this as a personal attack, I'm just trying to understand what you are thinking.
