is there any sand debris in the tube when you take the air filter off?

i guess i would do that but is there another way of getting the sand out from the arc induction box.. it seems like its entering from the 2 holes where the water drains at...
Put duct tape over the holes as an experiment and drive like that for a few weeks (not when it's raining) and I'll bet you'll still see sand in the airbox. Don't worry about it. It's not unusual to see this.
Periodically take the filter out and give it a good vacuum.
yes i have said so many times its about 1/4 of a teaspoon inside the box

I highly doubt that's where the sand is getting in. Sand usually comes in the same way the air gets in.

He doesn't mean in the airbox. He means "upstream" of the air filter. The air filter should have stopped it from getting into the intake tube.

He doesn't mean in the airbox. We already know it's in the airbox. He means "upstream" of the air filter. The air filter should have stopped it from getting into the intake tube.

oh sorry didnt get at first.. anyways yes there was sand
You are telling us that sand is getting past the filter and can have access to the intake manifold and then the engine? If this is so, you MUST resolve this situation IMMEDIATELY. Sand CANNOT get into the engine. If it is, you may be in for some heartache in the very near future. Get rid of that filter and get a new one. Or even better, get rid of that intake. The Arc intake is a well known HOT air intake anyway.
A teaspoon of sand into your intake manifold while the car is running will cause a significant loss of compression, best case scenario.
I'm not overly familiar with the stock intake, the holes for water drainage are 'before' the filter, correct?

Now hold on! I want to get this absolutely clear.

and what would a hot intake do to the engine any damage>?
sorry still a newbie
