I disagree. Living in Chicago, I see worse weather than probably 90% of the country. I drive the S all year, 14 inches of snow on the ground or not. I have yet to lose control of any vehicle I've owned in 13 years as a licensed driver. That doesn't make me superman, that means I have common sense.

Keep the "spirited" driving to the track. Defensive driving is the only kind that should be executed on a public road.
That reminds me...

Back in 06, home on transfer leave in Chicago. Had my old AP1(w/summer tires). Scariest time in my life.

What you mean is that you don't take any chances. You take it really slow if you don't see ahead of the curve, or if there's a chance that there might be a patch of black ice ahead, etc. This is fine and I applaud you for being sooo responsible in a car like this.

Regardless, VSA will help you and the rest of us, should we find ourselves in a bad situation.

i was gonna say this is total BS if it's just a traction control but looks like more of a stability control than most cars i've ever driven. I'd like to give it a whirl sometime actually.

makes me think of JDM evos, evo X, and now the STI with their AYC and electronic LSDs.
yes, I'm a Subaru Owner also

We bought S2000s just like the rich people buy their exotics... Ferraris, Lambos... whichever... they still have some sort of vehicle stability control.

Oh yeah... did we also forget to mention that we can TURN IT OFF?!?!?

Next time someone posts about spinning out in the rain or whatever else in a Non-VSA S2k... you should tell them that they should have used their INDY Car Pro Driver skills to get out of it.

Andre
oh don't get me wrong, i LOVE vsa equipped cars for their safety and all. i also like the fact that s2k's have vsa's and that they save people in the rain and what not. but u were driving it hard...

i'm not knockin' on vsa's AT ALL. what i'm trying to say is more toward this..

if you want to drive hard, take it easy first and try to learn how to drive hard gradually. that's all.

and a lot of exotic owners that i've met (mind you, not all of them ) bought they're car to "pose" and for status

hope this makes sense. i'm tired right now lol

If there was a device for a motorcycle that prevented another car from merging into your lane so they can't hit you, would you have that same "I'm invincible" attitude to that device?
uhm...no...not really....

yea thats abs (should be on all years of s2k) so you wont lock up your brakes while braking not VSA.. say you hit a corner to fast.. it can slow down the wheel that has wheel spin so you gain traction gain to complete your turn safely

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-lock_braking_system
On MY 04 and up the ABS was revised:
The ABS system has been improved through the use of split-regulation yaw-control logic for improved stability on split-μμ surfaces when the ABS is triggered.

That's basically a form of traction control.

It has nothing to do about making bad decisions or about being a bad driver... if you ever drive an S2000 with VSA, you will see that it turns on for the slightest little thing. You don't need to be driving in a reckless manner for it to turn on. Just pulling from a stop sign with some tire slippage will make it turn on... and how many times have you seen posts of people merging on a highway from an on-ramp in the rain, they punch it to get to speed and then spin out and hit the side wall?!?!?!?

There's many people on here that have seen me drive and know that I am a careful person and that I know how to handle the car. So your theory is

The reason for me having that statement in my sig is for all those that think they don't need it to see that it is of importance to have it... meaning I am a supporter of vehicle stability.

Thank You,
Andre

And I'm sure that you hold true to that statement 150% of the time that you drive the S around
