I'll bet you could beat 15.1 without ever hitting VTEC.

This would be worth trying just for fun.

Maybe he really knows how to drive but did not want to "break-out". If he KNEW he'd bead the slower Civic, then he would, himself, slow down to avoid beating his own time marked on his window, which would cause him to actually lose the race.
Does this sound good to anyone?

Not straight pipes, but we just put a cut up OEM exhaust on my friend's car. We just cut it after the pre-silencer and threw it on the car:

It sounded pretty good like this but it had a pretty sharp drone at low RPM so he had a 2.5" pipe welded on. It runs out the right side cutout and he put a stock tip on it.

It sounds AMAZING. Very quiet for something with so little muffling. I have no idea what kind of power it makes/loses but it's one of the best sounding S2000s I've ever heard.

woodburn is a little far for me, and that guy didn't have a dial in, it was just pull up to the line and race, which is what it is most friday and saturday nights

I pretty much have a cusotm str8 pipe exhaust on my 05 Berlin Black S2000....It sounds very veryyy loud but the performance is there especially at top end...The car definetly did not slow down, but is harsh for everyday driving...Sadly enough I got used to the sound and it is not too annoying for me anymore I have a sound clip of the exhaust on my car if someone can host it that would be cool...
what you perceive/feel vs what you get for actual gains are completely different.

without a dyno before and after, unfortunately you can't say whether you got any gains or not.

S2kJones has a straight pipe on his S (that he's selling btw if anybody wants). He had a magnaflow resonator put on and finished it off with a pretty much a straight pipe back. He had one of those nice angled chrome tips put on (the long ones with the back coated in black). It was loud as hell and definitely not for daily driving. He use to drift the car. I went to one event with him and everybody knew him by his exhaust note. When he went by, everybody was asking what setup he was running and if he had a turbo or s/c on the car. For a straight pipe, it definitely sounded mean. It made me want to get a dual setup just for track days.
