Scam?
Many years ago, I heard a story of a brand new Vette in which the owner had had a heart attack and died behind the wheel. This was in the desert of course and he virtually rotted in his seat before being found. The car had a stench of death that nothing could remove and was totaled for salvage. Don't know if the story was true or not but isn't this the ideal dream car made affordable to many 18yo kids? If it really happened and I had the ability to get my hands on it, I would have gladly lived with the stink of death and got a little creative with bleach and cologne. It probably would never be 100% but I wouldn't have cared, the smell would have always reminded me of the great car I got for a great price..

I have seen similar scams. I looked at a 350z that they were asking 10k for. Typically if you get an email response from the "sellor" it is in broken english. They always want cash or certified funds sight unseen. You also have to watch out on the selling end of a car. If a buyer offers a a money order for more money than you are asking and they pay for shipping as well its typically a scam. 99.9999999% of the time if it sounds to good to be true it is.

I've been looking for an S2000 for about a month now. I would like to buy one as cheap as possible, but like everyone else I still want to get one in good condition. Upon my searches the other night I came across something that looked WAY too good to be true. But for the hell of it I decided to investigate. I found a MY06 LBP with 7K miles for $8,000!
The woman selling it wrote me back and said she only wants $8,000 for it and the car is in California and needs to be shipped here. She said I have to go through Yahoo autos or something. Could this possibly be real? I would bet all my money it's some kind of a scam, but she said before I put money into it I can have a mechanic check it out and make sure I want the car. That whole deal.

If youre gonna scam someone, shouldnt you at least make the listing look reasonable?

the car is worth more than 3x that figure if it was all legit. the ONLY type of story i would EVER buy for this kind of deal is:
"i'm getting divorced. he cheated on me. i got his car, and i only want $1000. i want to stick it to the cheating bastard by dumping his baby like it was worthless, because that's what he did to me."
