It's just very frusterating because the movie is supposed to be about the "street racing underground" and yet there is no credit given to those who build their cars to race. For crying out loud, my family car (2002 Audi S4) could beat all but the S2000 at the track!

 

A T-88 supra ran a 14.5@96.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

That turbo is good to 1000hp. And it wasnt even a supra-esque trap speed! I mean, a 14.5@125, ok, that makes more sense. But 96mph! The US is not ready for the EYEBALL SUCKING ACCELERATION that a 14.5@96 is indicative off!!!!!!!

 

its really sad, when a Supra that claims to have 600+ horsepower runs in the 14s

 

I hate to throw a shot of reality in here, but it's a movie folks. Bo and Luke Duke didn't really have only one General Lee that did all those jumps. Sorry, I had to say it.

 

Just goes to show you what beaten down cars are capable of losing performance-wise. These aren't the first "10-footers" that couldn't pull a dead whore out of bed.
