Yes, it should.

Hopefully you aren't driving around without your belt on though.

I have an 09. With an occupied-seat seat belt is unfastened, a red blinking warning light on the dash will illuminate with an intermittent bell sound that will repeat forever until the occupied-seat seat belt is fastened or you crash, whatever occurs first.

Connect the connectors under the seat and anywhere else for best results.

Holy run on sentence Batman. I ran out of breath trying to read that without any punctuation. Make friends with comma and period.

Whatever shop fixed your car missed something and left it disconnected. Its a safety issue and liability for that shop. They should be eager to fix it if you tell them about it.

That's weird. My MY01 doesn't chime.

I'm gonna have to check and see if MY04 chimes. I alwyas wear my seatbelt now. I didn't used to but was in a wreck back in August and I was wearing it by freak chance and the other driver wasn't. The image if that driver's face haunts me every time I get in the car.

Edit: Sunday 12/21 - MY04 chimes after about 10s of driving without the seatbelt on.

Ok so I plugged the clip in underneath the drivers seat and all ok the chime is as it should be when driving without seatbelt, seat belt light also flashes, Prior to doing this I contacted previous owner and he disconnected clip from under seat as he has medical condition and can't drive with seat belt but thank you Mr car analogy

Feel under drivers seat you will find a cable with a connector you need to plug that in to seat belt clip also under seat, you will then get a chime.
