Seat bottom leather cover-AP1 & AP2 interchangeable?
I inherited a relatively low mileage (39k miles) from my dad who was the original owner. The passenger seat bottom has a large tear. Everything else is in good shape. Having trouble finding a AP2 seat bottom. Can I use an AP1 seat bottom? Are the leather covers interchangeable? Thanks for the help

Yeah, that's not an answer to your question, but it might give you another option to consider.
Th get accurate information you need to disclose the model year of your car. I know my 2006 "AP2" seats are different from 2004-2005 "AP2" seats (no the helmet hole) and the 2007 (or maybe it's 2008) "AP2" seats are different again.
I find the google search more convenient than the forum search so copy this into Google and grab one or more coffees (or beers).
2006 seat bottom site:www.s2ki.com (but use your model year)
And when you find the answer please let us all know as it's valuable information!

'06+ are notorious for poor quality leather. I have the same tear in base in mine.
The '04 '05 seat bottoms have a different vent hole pattern. Different spacing distance. It'd be painfully obvious it wasn't a match.
You have three decent choices:
Have an upholstery shop make new covers. This ain't gonna be cheap.
Buy premade covers. link with tons of options
You can diy if brave (watch tons of youtubes. Don't have to be S2k specific). Or have an upholstery shop do it.
Lastly, cheapest option. Find someone with same color seats, same year ('06 or '07) that is redoing their seats with one of above options. Buy their passenger seat base cover. Use on yoir drivers side. Its not exactly the same, but it will work and won't be able to tell difference.
Lastly,I don't recommend Clazzio covers. These are cheap covers that go ON TOP of existing leather, not replace it like all above options. They just never look right, nor sit right.
Someone is sure to reply how much they love theirs. Good for them. But not a good choice for an otherwise good condition S.
