Just a quick question: are model year 2001 s2000's included in the seatbelt recall or was this problem fixed at the factory?

Someone posted that the 2001's were held up in the US to get that fix before delivery.

There are two seatbelt recall campaigns currently:
NHTSA ID: 00V016000 which involves failure to retract with the top down and seat back. Vehicles effected Mfg Date: June 1999 to Dec. 1999

NHTSA ID: 00V316000 issued 10/10/2000 which involves the potential deformation of the retractor under adverse strain. No effectivity has been established formally for this one. Notification of effected owners was to start No.v 2000.

PS. Mine is an '01 and I haven't gotten a notice

I believe the initial release was held up so that they could check the problem on the 01's.
