c.w post is about an hour and a half from my house i was thinking of getting an old wrangler as a beater for the winter but i would still want the s2k at school during the spring and fall

drunk rich spoiled college kids are dangerous to private property, they dont know the cost of the dollar or consiquences....I would try to rent a garage or storage unit as a garage. I rented a small unit for my motorcycle in college because of similar circumstances. Sucks big time hope it works out
Had mine in school for the past Fall semester and Summer. So far I've had a minor fender bender but their insurance covered it so it looks better than new. I usually park mine in a secure parking deck and I've had no issues there. If you can find a deck that would be the best option, but other than that a hardtop may be the way to go.
get the S but get a cheap beater too.
dumping a beater will probably be as cheap or cheaper than repairing an S that gets dinged and/or vandalized occasionally. in college, i'd be more worried about door dings and key marks etc than top slashing. its usually the negligence, carelessness, and jealously of other students that will be the problems, not as much seat theft. (assuming all valuables are always hidden and you dont live in florida)
park the beater in places where the s wouldn't be safe. get a garage and enjoy the S whenever you can, but use the beater when it will get beat on.
