Wow I would offer 10k tops and im not joking, a new 09 CAN be bought for $27,500 with negotiations.

If the car doesn't seem right, walk on it. Don't do anything impulsive. There's plenty of great S2000s out there.

I share your pain though -- am looking for a used STI now and most of them are either beat to hell, way overpriced, or have a sketchy background. Take your time and buy what you ultimately want!
