I pulled in to close to a curb once, that was enough, the car is relatively short so even if your a foot away your probably still all the way in the spot.

The first time you hear those screws under the front lip hit the top of the curb you'll think you broke something, I did.

I think most new owners have to curb their car at least once, before they learn how to park an S2000. Most cars don't have this worry so a new owner will be used to pulling in until the bumper is well over the curb. This works fine in an SUV, but it will take the bumper clean off the S2000.

it wouldn't be that hard to install a proximity sensor, but it'll annoy the hell out of you half of the time and think of the weight you gain and the ugly holes you have to make...

I would just "becareful" and don't take chances driving. that might be cheaper and easier solution.

True for me (didnt take the bumper off, but scraped pretty good). Did it once and have yet to do it again. Funny because it took me a month or two to do this, but I think part of it was where I was parking. The spot was on a hill, with the curb in front, so the curb was higher than normal. I cringed when I heard the scrape and that sound was enough of a lesson to not need to pull as far forward as I normally think.

I just think to myself that the S2000 itself is a very small and short car. Even if I pull forward with LOTS of room (2-3ft) in front, I will still be in farther than most cars around me.

Another method is a way of thinking, "If there is ANY doubt that I'll hit/scrape something, don't do it." I'm not going to take a chance with something that I spent my hard earned money on. It's no Ferrari, but it is to me.

Thank you for all the constructive suggestions. What I was thinking about are the parking sensors that come installed on some other cars like some BMW models.

Any similar installations?

Regards,

Arturo

You could do one of these. expensive but it's cool factor out the window.
