Spark plug recall issue. Look at the "sand blasted" cylinder head shown in one of the photos. I have to give credit to Super, he was up at the Honda dealer getting his clutch TSB done when he saw this work being done. I just wanted to let everyone know that this problem IS real.

Is there a computer on board that stores information such as highest RPM, etc?

it is important... a loose plug will cause blow-by, at least and can warp your heads- or worse! not worth messing with or waiting for imo.

Going for my plug change tonight on the way home because if I wait and something happens while I'm on the highway, people are gonna think I'm crazy running around the car trying to kick myself in the ass.

The same sort of thing happened to me. The only difference is, only I had a second opinon. A gentleman named John Blake. He couldn't come up with anything other than overrevving, but was able to successfully pull out a loose spark plug piece, and the rest of the shattered plug lay inside cylinder #4. I damned near had to have a forensics expert to dig chipped pieces of the spark plug out of the piston and show it to Honda. My engine issue occurred in March, and since getting this "Campagin update" this shit is finally starting to come together, and it seems they may be leaning towards replacing my engine. Nevetheless, mine is surely due to a faulty spark plug.

In addition, to the above mentioned, this problem in a similar situation, this problem will always resemble overreving. Specifically if the chattered spark plug manages to get down into the cylinder, hence being caught between the cylinder and the valves and forcing damage to the valves. You must remember, these engines turn over at a very high rate, and it only takes a few seconds, or strokes of the piston!

Be shrewd, and consult with an Attorney! www.longheard.com was mine!

Will these spark plug problems be fixed in late '02, '03 models?
