Yup electronic lockout. GM puts electronic lockouts on their 6 speeds (at least the Camaros). Thought it might be the problem, since I haven't opened the center console yet. I was wrong. Honda uses a mechanical system.

Hi BBSilver

It's happened to me twice in 8.3K miles. Have no idea what it's about. Just wouldn't go down. I put it in first, rolled a bit, and tried again. Worked both times. Unsettling though.

I couldn't get it at all. I have a bruise on my arm from when I tried to pry it using the e-brake. (Here comes the flames). I was stuck in a three point turn and couldn't back up. That was the last straw. I could stand the embarassment of pushing my $35K car out of a parking space.

Have you contacted your Honda Zone? They'll contact Honda Tech for you. I have a feeling they know about this issue. Hope they can help you. Sounds like you have this problem in spades. Good luck!

Actually the dealership did it for me. Since these cars are rare, they said they like to ask around on the problems they haven't seen before. Another member (Power6Spd) had a similar problem. I gave them the info and they did the research. Turns out it wasn't related. This was a one of a kind or at least the worst case they've seen, I think. It's one file now.
