Default Shifter falls out of gear

I was wondering whether anyone else has had this happen...

While cruising along at 30 or 40 miles per hour in 3rd or 4th gear (usually around 3000rpm or less), the shifter will suddenly come out of gear and go into neutral.

Thanks, Chris

Yes, it happened to my MY 02 enough times that I took it in to the dealership to be fixed. There is a TSB on it.
It was supposed to be fixed on the MY 02's and up, but apparently not. If you do a search, you will find a few threads on the subject.

don't rest your hand on the shifter when you don't need to, it puts premature wear on the synchros and cause the problem you just described.

This occurs while my hand is NOT on the shifter. Just crusing along, being a "good guy". Just behaving and driving at 30 - 40 mph when - BAM - shifter goes into neutral and engine revs!

Thanks, Chris

ouch! Actually, mine is new and the clutch feels fine. I think I'll just take it to the dealer since it is under warranty.

Thanks for your help!
