it's really not that hard.

Pull straight back for 4th
pull back and towards yourself for 2nd
and pull back and away from yourself for 6th.

repeat the above steps for 1st, 3rd and 5th.

You should not aim for a gear, apply pressure in the direction of the gear you want for the (4) outside gears. For third and fourth you should let the spring mechanism do it.

From fifth to sixth you should still be applying pressure away from you, not "aiming" straight back.

you sound new to manuals. (no shit talking, we all were once)

try shifting before you get to the curve if you're still cutting your teeth. you'll be less likely to eat it.

If you're shifting to 4th in a curve, you're going around 80 mph... if the g forces are high enough that you're having trouble shifting, I'd be worried about upsetting the balance of the car by shifting at all. Even if you're going around a curve, everything in the car is still in the same place even if you side around a bit.

At any rate, I'd focus not on pulling the shifter but on pushing it - you need only a light touch - two fingers - and it will naturally drop into 4th. The 3-4 shift is the easiest shift since that's the natural balance for the shifter.

Unless you're pulling 5+ G's, you shouldn't really be able to blame it on G forces.

if your gettin on it try sitting in proper racing seat position. you should be able to press you butt to the back of the seat with the dead peddle, foot flat. from there i cant really see you having any problems with shifting straight.

Well, at least 3->6 is better than 3->2.

Unless you're at redline 3-2 is nothing - it's 5-2 you have to watch! Agree completely w/Saki: Have braking & shifting completed as you enter the turn then let the laws of physics & the car's suspension do their work. As you exit the apex the car will recover its equilibrium. At that point you should be shifting down to maintain RPM, not shifting up, which will lug the motor.
