The batches must be at least 10 apart, as that's how my MY'01 reads.

(it was just a f'r'instance, dlq... we don't really know the batch size, but the batching theory seems to fit what we've heard around the board)

I was assuming the worst (this problem), but it seems that my car needed a SERIOUS valve adjustment. Well, that is what the dealer told me. I pick up the car tomorrow morning. Hopefully, the noise will be gone, and the problem is solved.

so the only way you can find out that your engine needs a valve adjustment is if you hear a constant (louder than stock) tapping from the head? what are some other methods of checking for a much needed valve adjustment?

Well i caught my motor from going boom, about a week ago, It was extremely low on oil, little did i know this car burns oil that fast! it had 11000, and its an 02 recieved back in july, i would run it to 9k in 1st, (fine), then in 2nd, from 8-9k it stuggled and made funny sounds, then at 8700 CEL flashed rapidly for 10 seconds. And sure enough it was the oil, they need to make like a 7Q oil pan upgrade for this thing or somthing!
