Mine had 17. I don't think it was test driven, but I can't really know. At 91 miles, though, someone must've driven Mike's car.

 

mine had 16 miles on it, and i am sure it wasn't test driven. it is normal for the techs to put 10-15 to test everything out. also, the dealer saiid that my s2k had around 4-5 miles when it got off the truck.

 

Guys honda didnt pay for mine they tried to give me run around saying my intake ( aem coldair installed properly ) sucked up water thats funny considering it was it was in my driveway and i just went to start it up to you know let it run for couple minutes and spank you hear a sexy noise and it never started again so I had repair costing like 3500, but insurance paid for it but honda should have since they cant fix there own problems that were from teh begining and i will say if it happen again or anything goes wrong and honda doesnt pay I will have a lawyer calling them that day. why doesnt some one send this whole thread to honda of america maybe if i get bored i will ! But where can i type in myw in number to pull up recalls so i can go tell honda to fix my car so it doesnt do anything to break this summer .Then again i heard honda will tell people if they didnt get a honda oil change it will void warrnty . wrong again! shaun

 

i have a '03 and my engine number is = F20C1 - 1041760(im guessing i don't have the new batch of f20c's then). i thoght all 03's are supposed to have engines the engines with numbers >= 5386. is this correct?

haha sorry i didn't even notice the 2 and 4, thanks for clearing that up.

oh one more question out of curiosity:

my s2k is #1765, but the engine number is 1760.

shouldn't they match? how does this process work in the honda factory?

You are not alone. Seems that with most (all?) owners, the engine number is within a handful of the VIN number.

Our theory is that Honda builds the engines in batches of, say, 5 units. Then, we suspect, they mate the engines to the frames without any direct correlation of engine # to frame # (VIN). Let's suppose the frames are built 5 at a time too. With this approach, the numbers will be off, but not far off.

I imagine also that some frames never get engines, and vice versa. I have no idea if this throws the correlation off even further off as the year goes on.

In any case, your situation is normal. My engine is 6002 for MY'02, but my frame is 6006.
