Default should I be afraid to buy a s2000 with 300 miles on it? Also, are there serieal numbe

I have a chance to get a 2002 s2000 at a great price. The probelm it the car has 300 miles on it. I'm so afraid during that 300 miles the car may have not been broken in properly. Who know? Maybe it was reved too high?

Also, are there any serial numbers to watch out for ? #4 cyl?

Thanks

I can't speak to the #4 cylinder concerns...but I can suggest that it would be highly unlikely that an S2K with 300 miles would be something to lose sleep over. I purchased mine with 3K miles (and I was the 3rd owner! ) from CarMax. I thought a titch about VTEC issues that might have been done prior to the break-in period, etc. (which I'm sure are your primary thoughts/concerns), but I decided, "Hey, I test drove the car in a number of situations; engine seems strong, no leaks, idles well...etc.).

...and I couldn't be happier for the decision! Of course, only *you* know how much you would obsess about it...but I told myself when I decided to purchase it, "The car has a warranty...I'll be sure to use it if any issues present themselves." <== to *that* point...issues...be more interested in knowing whether or not your local Honda dealer has a well-trained [S2K] mechanic. THAT would be something every person considering purchasing any (new or used) S2K should consider.

Anyway...best of luck!

I don't believe there has been very many #4 cylinder problems with the 2002 model year. It was mainly an early 2001 model year problem. I wouldn't worry about that or the 300 miles.

I think it depends on just how good the "deal" really is!!!
Especially with the '03's being delivered now!!!
It would have to be a VERY good deal!!! (especially in Buffalo NY with winter knocking at the door!!!)

If you get a good deal then go for it, maybe you could have them add the extended warrenty. Good luck.
