I am going to text an acquaintance who wants to buy mine, if I ever sell, with your info.

Thanks for all the input! It sounds like the big concern is the rust. I have a request for a quote to repair out at a local shop and am waiting to see what they say.

additionally, for me, this will be my first performance car and I don’t really have an opinion on what makes suspension good - im thinking I’d keep the truharts until they fail or I feel like I want better performance.

I lived in Minnesota for two years and I know what the winters can do rust wise. However, at that price point on a low milage car, you should be able to drive it a lot. The top is in good condition and you can change out the suspension when you feel like it. You might even bring it back to stock. I am glad the accident was minor as this car is exceptionally sensitive to frame damage and even mismatched tires. Just the air pressure differentials in the tires can impact the drivability characteristics.

Lots of information on this site how to maintain the car. You may want to change everything out for a baseline start. This car is pretty easy to work on and I would be hesitant to take it to a dealer for routine stuff.

Good luck and have fun!

I work on performance cars for a living and I can tell you those truharts are worse than just about anything. I would rather have used OEM suspension on a car than that mess.

I decided not to purchase the car - the cost of new suspension ~2k and one good rust repair ~2k puts me in the price range of a nicer condition no rust S2000 along with a bunch of other cars that I think I’d be equally interested in. Additionally the amount of recent service visits are suspect.

thank you all for the input!
