I am in the same boat...um car with you.

The S which is actually a replacement for my totalled Z is the 3rd car. My wife drove the Z once in a year of ownership. She has driven the S once in 2 months since I bought it.

If you can get a way with that, go for it.

I have two little boys, 5 & 3 years old. I only own 2 seat sports cars it's all I have ever owned. The wife drives the glorified station wagon (SUV) or sedan or coupe. Just because you are a familyman doesn't mean you should get rid of what you love. I also ride my 954RR and Turbo Hayabusa , why would you sell your bike ? Plus I ride and drive very fast ,I know everybody says that but I am Deutsch. It is my birthright. So my wife drives the boys and I take my car. With all the safety Nazis around, all someone has to do is use their cell to report you to the police when your doing 130 down the freeway. Buy the car .

The faster you go, the less likely they are to read your license plate

Buy it! It can be your drive to work or weekend driver.

WFO Racer,

I sold my bike(02 R6) because I never rode it. And just felt like it needed to go before getting a new toy. I may end up getting another one eventually.

HTD will be your only problem

(High-Toy Density).

When we had two kids (now 3), my wife had a minivan, I had a pathfinder and an S2000. I sold both of mine and bought a M3....couldn't do the one car thing....missed the utility of the pathfinder, missed my top-down ride home from work every night. Now I am back at ground zero....have a new minivan, a 4runner and want another S2000. Only problem, I have a motorcycle, a hand full of mountain bikes, large workbench and all kinds of other nonsense in my 3-car garage.

So your only question should be is if 1) can you afford it as a playtoy, and 2) can you pack it in the garage. BTW, at 10:30 last night my wife comes downstairs and asks what I have been doing....I answer "been taking measurements in the garage....162" long, move a bike here, hang a bike there" ....whatever it takes to get it home...you will not regret it.

I'm in the same boat. Traded my sports car, for a 4 seater coupe, then for a 4 door but have longed for a true sports car again. So I pulled the trigger on an S2000 and am not looking back. Wife has a minivan so we always have a back up, the minivan and the 4 door. So like others have said, as long as its not your only car it'll be fine. I plan on using the S as much as possible. But the minivan will be the primary family car, that thing can haul loads of stuff, very practical.
