should i buy this s2k?
Found this S2000 for sale in my local area. $10,000 has 114,000 miles. I'm interested in the car, I've always wanted one and I can finally afford it. But I want to make sure i'm getting a good deal. What do you guys think? Assuming mechanically it's ok.

The appearance of that car would really concern me. The hood doesn't line up, the bumper doesn't line up, and those wheels are automotive herpes, which tells me something about the owner. I'd shoot for $6k on this one, but even then is probably pass unless the drivetrain was super solid and I was just looking to fix it into track rat condition.

Keep searching; don't rush into buying one.

the next cheapest s2k in my area is 18,000. Which is out my price range. My max is $10 grand.

Pass. Be patient. You'll find one that meets your budget and hasn't been...well I don't know what this one's been, but you don't want to find that out either with this example. Keep looking. I've known mine since it was new and it was understood with the original owner that I would be the second owner someday. That day came in July of 2018 with 16,437 miles on the clock of my MY 01 AP1.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Price is decent and yes you can swap out the wheels and maybe work on the hood to make it better. With a setup like that I’d be worried the previous owner was a clown and did other things to it that will need to be taken care of.
