i learned to drive stick the day before i bought my s2k and haven't regretted it since...if you have another car for the winter or a more practical car for when you need it don't hesistate in buying the stook...you'll never look back except to remember how happy and smart you were at the time of purchase =)

Do what I did to learn stick. Go find a local car rental place that might have low-budget sticks in stock and rent that for a week or several days. Most big rental companies like Hertz and Enterprise have done away with their manual cars, but smaller companies usually have economy cars for cheap that are stick. I learned by renting a 2000 Nissan Sentra and it was great. Of course I had someone go with me who could drive stick when I picked up the car since I didnt want to show the people there i didnt know how to drive a stick!
I rented that car for around $130 for the whole week. Of course if you have more cash, you could rent a more "exotic" car. The place I went to had a TT for $175/day.
I think this is the best and least expensive way to learn stick.
