Should I have this "mystery chip" connected?
Serious question
.. My installer was doing my alarm system.. He is a good installer.. He said that whoever owned the car before me had a chip and they just disconnected it when they sold the car. He siad the chip was down there under the steering column and he can connect it if I want .. I said na man just leave it the way it is since I wonder if this guy could have had a turbo or something and had that chip tuned for that?? I kidna doubt it but NA chips are normally pretty weak..

You cannot "chip" an S2000. If you're talking ECU changes, it can only be done with a piggy-back like the VAFC, or a stand-alone like the EMS.
This "chip" your installer is talking about is likely something else entirely, but I cannot guess what. How about a picture?
