Should I just keep custom vented hood?
I got my custom vented hood done in february by an engineer who also works for a performance shop (gearhead at proautosports) very cool s2k guy!
Cost around $700, mateirals grill and powerder coating alone was $100 or more.
Labor was 8+ hours but the job was mint, no paint cracked nothing! i was so afraid of cutting my hood but this guy was a pro and to this day no rattles, no discolration, just perfect OEM type job.
I had the vents done right above the header and air intake so the engine is now very very cool. Within a few min of driving you see heat waves coming out and after a nice drive the vents are so hot you can't even put your hands on them or barely even above them
Also I dont get the "cute" s2k comments anymore. Just man she looks mean etc etc, and my honda dealer, random people and s2k owners at meets really like it...........
so its like if I didnt sell my s2k i would keep this on forever. Best mod ever up there with gears, just looks so badass and functional. one you go vented hood you don't go back
now the issue is, I'm selling my s2k in July and I wanted to have another s2k member on here have the hood. I got almost daily PMs form out of state owners but I'd rather prefer to keep it to someone who can pick it up. I need a regular stock hood (good condition like mine) .
So if the person is out of state they would have to ship their hood, then I'd have to ship mine back to them and that will be kind of $$ and a hassle. So I'd rather have someone come to seattle...
I even lowered the price to $355 + stock hood which is a steal, a mint silverstone hood waxed, no dents etc. a CF vented hood weights more and is CF so wont match your car if you dont like the CF looks and more $$ and will cost even more $$ and probably won't fit.
but since no one in seattle is offering I'm thinking just to keep it on when I sell the car in july.
you think I should hold out longer and sell or just keep hood on for the new s2k owner?
for reference I saw a stock hood on here for $300 so I could do that option but at the price im selling the vented its not worth it.
