I don't think the noise is so much louder..just a more raspy note..kind of Alfa like, particularly on the overrun.

I took mine off as a precaution to avoid damaging it when changing to a mugen ECU.

I think the car stinks and makes smoke....but other drivers in UK say it is not so noticeable.

I have no cat on my car, and I would never put it back on. It makes it just a bit louder, but the vtec transition is a lot smoother. Biggest drawback is the rear bumper turns yellow every 5-600 miles. Rubbing compound takes care of that.

mugen header + J's pipe + Honda exhaust..

however when it all goes back it will be mugen header + J's pipe + mugen exhaust... which again won't be so loud I think.

Hi:
You guys forgot Mark is from the UK. No offense Mark, but cars over there stink like you wouldn't believe. I think someone said it was due to the large amount of diesel cars and how sulferated the diesel is.
At any rate, for the record from just what I've read here, removing the Cat doesn't give much of a performance gain.

cheers!

what is CEL? by Vash

CEL = Check Engine LIght

nufsed!!

good point about saving the environment. I have not put my testpipe on because i don't have the
O2 loop. I heard some people will remove the CAT and put on the testpipe when they are going to
the track and then after they put the CAT back on.

i feel smoothing transitions from gear to gear with my T1R exhaust. so maybe there really is a 5hp gain
and then another 5hp with the testpipe. i will have to get dyno'd

dunno if it's legal to do so, but I think you'll be happy with the extra loudness. In my neck of the woods, no CAT could be a big ticket
