Give Jeff a call at the shop on Monday if your not happy with your purchase.

Like everyone says, if you stare at it the whole time you have it on, it will drive you nuts..better to get something you are happy with than settle

Unfortunately, this will most likely be the scenario. The problem is not just with the shipping costs to replace the hood ($200?), but because it comes from the manufacturer, how do I know that I will get a better one next time? I don't know if Jeff can arrange that.

The other thing is that my car repair is already a week behind, because of waiting for the hood to arrive. I'm afraid to ask how long it will be to get another one.

Eventually, after the hood was very worn or damaged, my plan was to paint it to match the body. However, I had hoped to get several years of enjoyment out of the carbon fiber look. The reason that this hood is so expensive, is because it is made of carbon fiber. If I knew that I was going to paint it, I probably could have bought a fiberglass hood for much less money.

Also, prep work and painting do not come cheap at this body shop. This will be hundreds of dollars that I did not anticipate spending on the hood at this time.

Not to bash you at all, but what Fiberglass vented hoods are a cheaper solution? I can't find one...or at least nothing that looks as good as that Amuse style.

However, good luck with the hood.

Many of the CF hoods I've seen have little "issues" like the one you show. I just thought it was the nature of the beast.

Its full dry carbon fiber. The underside of the hood is a CF frame, unlike most cheaper priced CF hoods they use a polystone or a fiberglass framing system.
