Should I Return This CF Hood?? (pics)

you know, this just doesn't sit right with me. i don't think that you should have to pay extra to get the hood painted because you are dissatisfied with the weave. it seems to me, that as long as the hood is returned like it was shipped, the transaction should be refundable.

Kodokan_4 - After all this, have you even spoken to Jeff at Evo yet? Even m777erlin suggests you call Jeff, and personally it would have been the first thing I would have done (unless the shop was closed at the time). I agree you should get a new hood if you're unhappy with quality, but you shouldn't worry yourself to death about it until you actually get a call in to Jeff.
just my $.02

TepEvan-
I should have posted this here, already.
Jeff from Evolution sent me a PM asking me to call him Monday morning about the defective hood, which I did.
I guess I expected him to work out some kind of return, or exchange. If that wasn't possible, I thought I might at least get a partial refund, since my defective hood is obviously not as good as the others.
Jeff offered me nothing.
He said that there can be defects in the hood, but that they were good for the money.
I don't understand how he feels comfortable taking as much profit from me, as he does from the other owners that receive good hoods. I could have asked him, but I was polite- but now I'm angry because I'm having more problems with the hood!
I'll tell you about it in my next post.

I just got back from the body shop, and THEY SAID THEY WON'T PAINT MY HOOD!!!
I was told that they only do OEM work, but I didn't find out until my car was in there. Now I guess I'll have to find a place that can do it, and hope that all of the paint matches.
Any suggestions on where to take the car/hood in the Los Angeles/SoCal region?
It's got to be a place that has experience with custom work.
I may try to pull the plug, and take the whole car somewhere else for the paint.

Pete, just a couple of thoughts:
1. if the shop won't paint it, would it be worth putting it on the car and seeing if/how much it really bugs you?
2. would it be worth selling it for a slight loss and buying a different one (or another OEM hood)? You'd still be way ahead of having the hood painted (in terms of costs).
Just tossing out ideas. Take them with a grain of salt.

If I don't take the car to another shop to do all of the paint, I'll have to install the hood as-is, and take it to another paint shop. I am already sure that I don't want to leave it like it is.
I could sell the defective Evo hood for a slight loss, but all I have received are a few PMs offering me around half-price for it.
Also, the whole point was to replace the OEM hood with a custom hood.
By the way, the OEM hoods come unpainted, although it would definitely be cheaper to paint the OEM hood than the defective Evo hood, if that's what you mean.

I haven't painted mine yet....I was supposed to do it this winter, but we never got enough snow in the beginning to warrant me taking the hood off for the season.
I will play it out this spring/summer/fall, and then get it painted next winter for sure.
