Should I sell to Carmax?
I sold my last car to carmax.
I could have parted it out and made a little extra scratch but carmax is hassle free and they do it with decent speed.
I'd try to sell it on your own but if you need the money fast use carmax as a last resort.

[QUOTE=Jmm0056,Aug 23 2007, 04:16 PM] I went to carmax today with my IS and the sales guy told me that they typically offer 5g's less than what they are going to sell it for, so if you find something comparable on their website subract 5g's and thats what they paid.

let me know too, i plan on doing the same.
Carmax offered $19K
They "graded" the car C. And noted the cracked windshield and repainted passenger door and passenger side front quarter panel.
They missed the slipping clutch (just started, I slipped it real bad about 6 months after I bought it, smoke was everywhere) and they missed that the seats wheren't the original ones.
Kelly Blue Book has the trade in value listed as ...
Condition - Value
Excellent - $23,500
Good - $22,190
Fair - $19,965
Make what you want out of it, but I would have headed straight to Carmax after the second person test drove it and decided not to buy via private sale. I just don't have the time. I will provide an update on what they sell it for once it hits their lot in about two weeks.
As for the Kodokan seat locks that I purchased to protect my replacement seats?!?!? I removed them and sold them to another S2K owner in the neighborhood. Who knows where that key would have ended up while going through Carmax.
