I think you should keep your MY00. You figure you've had it this long, you know everything there is to know about that car. The MY00 is in my opinion the purest of all S2000 since that's what the engineers and designers originally intended the car to be.

All good advice, especially Silver Streeker. My buddy just bought a new one. I like the glass window. Wheels look cool, though they're a lot heavier than the originals. Really slow the car down. Don't like all the added pockets in the interior. Must appeal to the secretaries that own them! Kind of like the '00 front end better, especially the lights. Not so busy looking. Also like the rear end of the '00 with the simple tailights and less sculptured look. I have the second generation transmission, thank God. My serial number is in the 7000's. I think they made the change at about 6600. But the '07 is supposed to have an even better one. Actually test drove the '07 today. Didn't turn in as sharp and the rear end felt less responsive to me. But it could have just been the tire pressure. Who knows what it was. The two cars are very close. I guess I just like the idea of a new warranty, new car smell! And what about the '08's? The club racer sounds good but I don't know if I can do without a folding top. How much are they going to be? Are the normal '08's improved in any way? I know they dropped Silverstone metallic for something called Chicane silver. Hope it's not that washed out color they put on the ......01's was it? Or 02's. Gimme some more input so I can decide! david

Is your MY00 paid off? I would keep it and not have to deal with another car payment. Besides, you don't even drive it (13K miles for an 00) so what's the point in buying a new one? MY00 has 116K miles.

Straight line, no. I did, however, run against an 01' (I have an 07') on a track and it was pretty much dead even. It depends more on the driver I think. The 00's are definately the purest but I think at this point it is up to you to decide. Take it for a spin and see for yourself.
