i have a MY2001 and my driver's side rear tail light reflector is almost completely faded out.. i tried to get the recall service done at honda but they said my car wasnt qualified for the fix because it didnt fall within a certain range of vin#'s.
so is there any other way to restore the color without having to buy a new tail light? i read somewhere that you can buy paint for it from honda. thanks for any info

thanks. ill try taking it to a different dealer and if that doesnt work, call honda of america.

 

now that ive read the whole thing, that thread only talks about getting it fixed for MY00 s2k's.
mines an 01. so im wondering if anyone else with a MY01+ has had this problem?

 

i never had that problem, maybe due to lack of sunny days...? do u have an early my01? or have your tail lights been replaced at some point in time?
looks like a good reason to get AP2 tail lights

 

hmm. i dont think theyve been replaced but is there any way to check? and i actually prefer ap1 tails

 

AP1s= no orange and not so busy.

Since it was considered a safety issue leading Honda to do the recall, I would expect the dealer should respectfully handle your taillights for you.
