Side S2000 badges
Just a follow up-I removed the windshield tape and it was completely a non-event. Came off cleanly, and the paint is perfect underneath. I am very pleased with the "look". Kinda wonder why Honda put the stuff on there.
On the side badges-the manual does give some dimensions for positioning the badges. I am getting up the nerve to apply them.
Thanks

Does anyone have a foolproof method of accurately placing the S2000s the first time? I have the Honda black chrome badge kit, and the instructions say mask around the old ones before removing.
Badge Installation Details
I hope this helps.
I installed the badges recently myself. I found that the best way to have a perfect alignment was to use the black foam template that comes with the new emblems.
1. Remove the black template from one of the new emblems. Be sure to leave the adhesive on the face of the new emblem so you retain its proper spacing.
2. Place the template on the old emblemand mask around the template. I found this much easier to mask than just the existing emblem because you have 4 straight edges.
3. Now take the template off and put it back on the new uninstalled emblem, reusing the plastic strip on the back.
4. Remove the old emblem. I found that 3M adhesive remover made this much easier.
5. Align the template with the new emblem in the masked off area.
6. Use a piece of masking table at the top of the aligned template as a hinge.
7. Flip the template/new emblem up and then remove the plastic backing covering the adhesive.
8. Flip back down and press firmly
9. Remove the tape from the face of the new emblem and the black foam template and admire the prefectly aligned emblem!
Also, if you have already removed the original emblems, the shop manuals do have detailed measurments.

Thanks for all the replies.
The problem I had - when removing the old badges the masking tape I applied was also removed during the glue removal process. I have the manual, and using a combination of the dimensions given there, and the foam that comes from Honda surrounding their new emblems, I was able to position properly the emblems by laying out their positions on some new masking tape applied to the fenders. Job done-very happy.
I do not know why removing the windshield tape would void your warranty or make any difference on a lease. I doubt they would even notice.
