If side strakes made any difference, the gods of Honda engineering would have added them to the prototype.

When I bought my S, it came with Side Strakes. I hate them. I wish they weren't drilled to the side of the car so I could take them off. Now I can't. And since filling the damn hole is not worth it, I have really no choice. Anyways, I highly doubt it's functional. I also think it ruins the lines of the car. Why me. Stupid side strakes.

It's because of the black rubber bottem of the strakes. They are lined up properly, but you're right, they look higher...

They might be slightly functional.

If you think about it, some lift at the rear end is probably caused when the air flowing underneath the car expands into the area containing the rear suspension and slows down, increasing its pressure. Air flow over the top of the car is still fast, so you get lift.

If the strakes keep more of the airflow that is striking the rear tire underneath the car, rather than allowing it to escape to the outside of the car, the air under the car won't slow as much, and there will be less lift.

The tradeoff might be that they result in more drag, though. That might be why they aren't standard.

I think these look much better, and much more "balanced". Anyone considering side strakes should go for these.

Comptech side skirts:

The urethane version is now out as well.
