Default Simple question I could not find in FAQ

What is the name of the engine in my 2005 AP2?

Is it the F20C or F22C? What is the difference of the spoon "overhauled" engine and what is its redline?

Where does the F2xC term come from?

Are they still producing S2000s with 2.0L displacement and 9k redline for other countries? Do they come with the American AP2's bumpers?

Is the redline for the AP1 actually at 9000rpm, I have heard conflicting messages... is it really at 8500 rpm? Is the redline for the AP2 actually at 8000rpm or is it at 8500 rpm?

Edit: I forgot to thank you guys in advance for your help. Tryin' my best to learn, thanks guys!

1. The engine in your USDM 2005 AP2 is the F22c. There should be a place where you can see the engine designation on the block, but I'm not sure.

2. I don't know.

3. The first letter in a Honda engine designation is usually the block I think, the two numbers after that denote the displacement in 1/10ths of liters (i.e. 22 = 2.2 liters), and the last letter denotes the variation of the engine. For example, if another variation of the F22c comes out with the same block and same displacement, it may be called the F22e or the F22c2. I'm not really sure.

4. Yes, although I hear in '06 they're all going to the F22c. Someone can correct me I'm sure.

5. Yes.

6. I believe if you actually count the little orange bars, the redline of the AP1 is technically 8900 rpm. But what's 100 rpm amongst friends? Fuel cutoff is past 9000 rpm anyway.

7. Look in your car. The redline for your car is at 8000 rpm. I don't know where fuel cutoff is.

Can I go to bed now?
