Hey guys, well iv owned my baby for quite a while now.. and im not really into the whole triple digit stuff, but you know i just had to make sure the 1 worked and wasn't burnt out or anything like that, so i found a long road in the middle of nowhere and gave it all she had till just after 4th. My car seemed to struggle to get to 120! i mean i may have been going up a slight incline i don't remember (was in the mountains)... all i remember is it taking quite a while to get over 100 and never made it to 120 before shutting down...i dont even know if it where to of gotten there...lol. I mean I didn't buy the car for 1/4 mile or anything like that i dont care about that stuff but im just wondering if the incline may have taken a huge toll on my car just due to torque or something like that, or is there something that could possibly be wrong? what should i check for? any maintenance or anything that i should check up on? i just changed my oil about 1k ago, my car has about 27k miles on it. Or maybe im just crazy and theres nothing to worry about, and im just wasting my, and your time... either way... whats your input on this? lol thanks
Might need a tuneup, you have low miles but you didn't say when you had your last tune up,check your spark plugs, often over looked!!!!,air filter.Might need a valve adj if your hard on the motor

bought the car used with about 26k on it, and changed the oil first thing and put on a comptech CAI, havent checked spark plugs, or have done a valve adjustment.

What was the altitude?

Altitude, altitude, altitude. I'm not the first to say it but that's the most likely answer.

Less humid and cooler days help any car run better . I had my S , top down at 150 and had to stay on it because of the Highway Patrol car I passed sitting on the shoulder of the interstate . Good thing for those quik exit ramps .

my car shoots past 120 without even a hickup. I'm afraid to go much faster then that with all the cops around here.

On the street my S always seems slow to me because i'm not in V-tech very often. On the track its great, as I'm always in V-tech. I need a "roots" style supercharger to fill my void on the street.

The car always seems to pull well up to 120mph.

Easier way to test that "1" out is to switch to km/h

I was racing a VW GLI (200hp + turbo in it) the other day. Smoked it of course. Didn't have any problems hiting 120 from 80 mph role. I vote granny shifting. Run her hard until you see the red line like come on, then shift her like a man. If you're running in 6th gear from 50 mph to 120mph on an incline of course it'll take some time.

i find the s2000 struggles to reach it's top speed as well. my rsx-s had an easier time reaching 230km/h..

haven't really tried it many times though, perhaps i had a head wind.
