Small dilemma with a S and a r6!
Ok, I have surprisingly stumbled upon some extra cash this winter, 6 grand to be approximate. I have been waiting for this extra cash so I can afford a used Yamaha R6 (second bike). But now, I find myself wanting to do some serious modding to the S as well.
I'm not sure what to do. I asked my friends and they are mostly split down the middle. I think a choice between a good bike and a good car is pretty appealing to have when I stumble into my garage. But having ONE amazing car on the other hand isn't no different.
Just to clarify it up, If I would spend my $$$ on the S. I would most likely get
Top Secret Front Bumper
V-AFC
Coilovers
GT-3 Rims
Racing Slicks
CAI
Headers
Or maybe just a speedcraft turbo.

Back when I had my S, I also had a 2000 R6... the blue one, not the red one. And you know what? It was awesome. Sure, it'd be cool to have a fast(er) S2000, but for what you are going to do to it with the $6000, you'd get a lot more performance with the R6. Think about it- unless you do the SpeedCraft turbo (which I've seen in person and been to the shop- top notch stuff) you're just spending a lot of money on things that won't make much difference. And with the turbo, you won't have your warranty, emissions- anything. And, it'll cost you at least 6Gs for the turbo, probably more, especially with installation.
Get the R6. Absolutely bulletproof bike, looks good, rides exceptionally well, and you don't have one now. I'm really thinking about supercharging the M Coupe soon, or getting a TL1000 S... and TLs are oneheckuva deal now. So, you know which direction I'm leaning.
Good luck in your decision, and remember, wheelies are hard to do on an S2000!

Yahweh, that's nice!
You're absolutely right, no mod can substitute the complimentary thrill of a bike, much less an R6. What year is that? Are those with the LED brake lights? And that BMW in the background looks nice too.

If you buy a bike buy a GSX-R 600. That is what I think.
Or take the money throw it into a mutual fund or something that earns interest sit on it for 2-3 years then all the money that you made on it go get something really awesome. New NSX or Z06 would be really nice.

Easy choice: R6. Mine was way more fun than the S2000, or just about any bike I've ever ridden for that matter.
Waaaay more bang for the buck than S2000 mods, as long as you ride w/ your head on straight and understand and accept the risks.
If you think the S2000 is exciting, wait until you thrash an R6 along a twisty road @ 16K rpm!
