Default small soft top tear question

well it happened. my soft top has a very small pencil tip size tear in the typical wear spot. i dont know if it even leaks but its only visible from the inside of the car.
i want to just put a little bit of the adhesive vinyl stuff ive read about other people using is there any particular brand people recommend? and where do they sell it? i just dont want to rush to order it and get the wrong kind.

I used a product called " Tear Aid" on mine, worked great.

tear aid is awesome, i used it on my old ap1. it sealed up a couple of tears and kept them from getting worse. i put a few patches on my current s2k in the typical wear spots to prevent tears and so far so good.

I'm going to be attempting a little repair this week if time allows. I'm going to:
1. Stitch up the tear.
2. Apply Loctite Vinyl Adhesive to either side to seal the stitching and help hold the repair.
3. Apply a large iron on patch to the inside to reinforce and smooth the surface the bar runs across.
4. Cover the outside stitched/sealed area with 3M Vinyl Repair to hide and reinforce the repair.

I used tear-aid and other patches, and they kept eventually getting pulled up. Plus (at least for me) they seem to do more to seal the hole than actually prevent the hole from getting larger.

That is pretty similar to the process I used, and it has worked, albeit in it's own ugly way.

Use duct tape to hold the tear together
Stitch the tear shut
Glue the outside, over the stitching
Pull the duct tape off the inside
Apply a patch inside to eliminate rubbing

used black silicone adhesive from the autozone and cut the patch from old top material. Took my time to really saturate the patch material. Held so far. I siliconed the patch in place with the vinyl side up and cloth side down(towards the inside of the cabin).

good luck.

I'm just wondering why "Tear Aid for fabric" if the S2K top is vinyl ?
