Default Smartire mount

For those who have been asking to see how I've mounted the Smartire tire pressure and temperature monitor, here are a few photos:

The monitor, which reads radio signals sent by sensors in each wheel, is mounted on a hinge under the dash near the driver's side door. Velcro holds it up and out of sight.

When I want to read the tire pressures and tempertures, I just fold the monitor down.

This is a wonderful gadget, but only if peace of mind is worth $300 to you. Since I don't have a spare, I'm obessed with monitoring my tire pressures and this is an essential device in my car.

Are there any wires that come out of the smartire monitor? Does it use batteries?

There's a power cable, run into the fuse box to tap a power source, but for all intents and purposes, it's competely out of sight.

This is very easy to do. Radio Shack has inserts you plug into an empty fuse slot along with a fuse. The inserts have a spade connector on them, so you can tap right into the power. It's simple even for a novice. Remember Honda uses the mini slot fuses, not the old-fashioned glass tube type.

Rick,

I will have to post my visor-mounted receiver install... You knew I couldn't put it in an "ordinary" location... didn't you? That would be way too easy
